SECG blog: The digital gap for older adults

The latest blog by AAG's Student and Early Career Group (SECG) comes from Dr Debbie Pu, member of the SECG National Working Group - Communications and Awards.

In 'How wide is the digital gap really for older adults?', Debbie considers the digital gap experienced by older adults. What happens when older patients or participants are asked to go online, use a QR code or a smart phone app? As Debbie concludes, there are no easy answers, but we shouldn't take anything for granted.

State of the (Older) Nation Report 2023

COTA's third 'State of the Older Nation' report presents the experiences and views of older Australians after another year living with COVID-19, cost-of-living pressures, natural disasters and overseas conflict.

Through a nationally representative survey, 2,750 Australians aged 50 years and over answered questions on a range of topics, ranging from quality of life to cost of living, employment, ageism, elder abuse, employment, housing and technology.

AAG's uniquely broad membership of researchers, educators, policy makers, health professionals, service providers, advocates and others are well placed to address the opportunities and challenges associated with ageing and aged care.
